Summary of announcement
The Swedish Club have announced a 5% General Increase (GI) for the 2026 renewal.
The Club have noted an improvement in year to date claims trends, with lower frequency and benign large-losses experienced. The Club have, thus far, experienced limited exposure to large claims within their account. They do note, however, that claims cost inflation and uncertain operating environments (driven by geopolitical concerns and changing trading patterns) continue to be of concern and underline the importance of maintaining premium adequacy.
The Club notes positive investment returns which continue to strengthen their position, however note that they remain volatile and cannot be relied upon to offset underwriting performance over time. The Club's financial strength was affirmed and individual member's records will be taken in to consideration when negotiating renewals.
Deductibles will apply to legal costs and expenses and standard minimum deductibles are to be updated to Cargo USD 17,500, Crew USD 10,000, 3rd Party USD 30,000, Other USD 15,000 and all deductibles below the standard minimum are subject to a minimum increase of USD 2,500.
