Summary of announcement

The American Club have announced a targeted overall increase of 8% for the 2026 renewal.

The Club have cited inflationary pressure and persistent claims volatility, specifically at Pool level, as dictating factors in their approach to rating strategy, despite premium income growth since inception of the current year. The Club has affirmed that it will have no standardised general increase, and instead an overall target increase of 8% has been set.

American Club remain concerned by the impact of large Pool claims over the last 18 months and the 'new norm' of elevated claims costs: the Club notes its effective approach to risk assessment in managing the impact of direct claims, however have noted the challenging impact of larger casualties, particularly at Pool level.

All deductibles of USD 25,000 or less, per claim, are to be increased by USD 1,000.

Further details can be found in the Club's bulletin, here.
