Belfast – Glowing feedback all round. Great technical expertise, competitive, excellent relationship, and skilled underwriters.
Birmingham – Very competitive on price, flexible and they excel on construction-related risks and XOL placements.
London Retail – Great feedback across the piece. Broad policy offering, cross-class appetite, motor proposition and communication.
Newcastle – Great relationship, flexibility, and competitive pricing.
Casualty ROW – Excellent Canadian team with a good breadth of experience. Broad appetite in Australia.
Global Cyber & Technology – Good relationship, extremely willing to support and wide appetite.
National PI Solicitors E&W – QBE have a strong Risk Management proposition for Solicitors and review each case on its merits.
Professions PI Construction & Property – Excellent technical underwriting team, claims, and MIP solution.
Professions PI Solicitors & Accountants – Long standing insurer providing a good service to Lockton and clients. Good breadth of appetite (wider than other insurers).
Marine Cargo – Great leader who offer quality product knowledge and have a 1st class claims service. Their multinational placements are the ‘best in the market’.
Areas for Improvement for QBE?
Power & Renewables – QBE could provide grater capacity, larger line sizes and lead more business.
Belfast – Improve response times and their online trading platform were common themes.
Birmingham – Better communication on appetite and quicker response times.
London Retail – Better broker engagement and improvement of global capabilities and servicing.
Newcastle – One of the main feedback elements were the need for additional staff to improve service and response times.
Casualty ROW – Better communication of underwriting appetite changes sooner.
Global Cyber & Technology – Quicker response times and communication.
National PI Solicitors E&W – It can be challenging to acquire terms from QBE.
Professions PI Solicitors & Accountants – Common themes received were the need for a better claims service and greater flexibility on pricing.
Marine Cargo – QBE should look to hire more underwriters.
