Lockton is delighted that IGNITE, our Associate Resource Group for under 35s, has won Outstanding Employee Network of the Year at the British Diversity Awards! Lockton Chief People Officer, Martyn Worsley, was also been highly commended in the HR Diversity Champion of the Year Award category.

These awards celebrate individuals and organisations driving real change in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). The awards were announced on March 19 at a ceremony in the JW Marriott Grosvenor Hotel, London.

The Outstanding Employee Network of the Year Award goes to the network which has achieved the most to make people feel valued in the workplace. IGNITE has empowered early-career professionals, especially those from under-represented backgrounds, through mentorship, education, networking, and community engagement. This award is a testament to their influence in making Lockton a place where future leaders can grow and excel.

Martyn’s leadership has transformed Lockton’s DEI strategy, embedding it into the fabric of our culture and operations. His work has helped ensure that diverse talent not only joins Lockton, but thrives here, making our business stronger and our teams more dynamic.

As a privately-owned, independent insurance broker, Lockton fosters a culture where people are empowered to bring their whole selves to work, delivering exceptional client service, supporting their communities and driving innovation. Our diverse perspectives help make our clients’ businesses smarter and more successful.

Lockton was also honoured to partner with UK Sport in introducing the Athlete Powering Positive Change Award, underscoring our shared commitment to inclusivity, wellbeing, and creating pathways to success. Cindy Ngamba won the award; Cindy is a Cameroonian boxer who competed for the EOC Refugee Team at the 2023 European Games. She is the first-ever medallist for the Refugee Olympic Team.

Lockton launches BESS Lock facility to streamline energy storage protection

In February, Lockton launched BESS Lock, a new specialised insurance facility designed to streamline coverage for battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.

As energy storage becomes an increasingly critical component of the renewable energy transition, securing comprehensive and cost-effective insurance for BESS projects has historically been a complex, time-consuming, and costly process.

The BESS Lock facility provides more competitive pricing through its full-follow facility, up to £250m in capacity, supporting one of a panel of industry-recognised leading BESS market insurers. This solution results in a more efficient approach for clients, who can take advantage of Lockton’s extensive energy storage expertise and insurer network to finalise chosen placements with a pricing credit within 48 hours.

This streamlined process enhances the financial viability of BESS projects, helping clients allocate resources more effectively towards project execution.

BESS Lock represents the latest solution presented to clients of the Lockton Global Energy & Power (LGE) practice, serving to keep up with today’s rapidly evolving renewable energy landscape. Since 2014, LGE has provided tailored energy storage risk solutions for projects in Europe, USA, and Australia.

Multinational team update

Sucanra Suthagaran

Khaleb Tota

Lorenzo Molezzi

Over the past six months, the Lockton Global Solutions team in London (LGS London), has been focusing on onboarding and engaging with our large and complex multinational clients. At the same time, we’ve continued to build momentum by reinforcing our multinational capabilities to better position ourselves against market competition and deliver unparalleled service. As part of this journey, we’re pleased to share key updates on our team’s growth, leadership, and progress.

In late May, we welcomed Sucanra Suthagaran as our Multinational Leader for the UK produced multinational portfolio, marking an exciting milestone in our development. With deep expertise in global insurance solutions and a strong track record in managing multinational client portfolios for 10+ years, Sucanra is uniquely positioned to lead our team through the next phase of growth. Her leadership will be instrumental in refining our global value-proposition, strengthening collaboration across Lockton’s international offices, and ensuring that we continue delivering consistent, high-quality solutions to our clients. Additionally, earlier this year in March, Jill Connell joined the team on a six-month secondment. With 10 years of industry experience and six years within Lockton Global Solutions as Team Leader for the Northeast Series, Jill has played a vital role in driving consistency in Lockton Global messaging, supporting the team’s continued expansion, and facilitating the onboarding of clients to the Navigator portal, set to launch in the UK in June 2025. The Navigator portal is a multinational platform used by LGS in the US which is now being introduced in the UK to serve multinational clients.

Our multinational team has evolved significantly, and the last six months have been pivotal in strengthening our global service framework. Collaboration across Lockton’s international offices has expanded, and we have successfully delivered numerous diligence reports for some of our largest clients. Our dedicated Account Managers, Lorenzo Molezzi and Khaleb Tota, remain key drivers of engagement within Lockton, excelling in maintaining strong client relationships while supporting new business opportunities.

A core focus has been, and will be, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for our multinational clients. Over the past six months, we’ve refined processes to enhance integration and optimise efficiency across our daily engagements. The upcoming deployment of the Navigator portal will further streamline risk management, giving clients real-time visibility and improving service delivery across territories. This will also come with the support of two new Account Managers who will be joining the London team in September 2025. Lockton Global Solutions’ commitment to excellence remains at the heart of everything we do. With strengthened leadership, a dynamic multinational team, and continued innovation, we are well-positioned to evolve our global service model and drive even greater value for our clients in the months ahead.
